Replacement of outdated and oversized steam boiler a new steam boiler along with TRVs on all the radiators and test/replacing steam traps.
Description of the installation: New Industrial Steam boiler Series ISB3; thermostatic radiator valves and vacuum breakers on all the radiators to control heat and comfort per room; and Tekmar outdoor reset control for control of the heat for the building. Installation of TRVs, proper thermostat and a proper heat loss calculation allowed us to install a boiler that was almost half the size of the original boiler. All steam traps were tested throughout the building. Testing and replacing steam traps in a 2 pipe steam system is essential for proper operation of the system. All piping and controls around the boiler were replaced. Boiler operates on less than 1 lb of pressure for 16 floors.
